Free Days at the Wadsworth Atheneum
The Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art partners with community and corporate leaders to provide free general admission (special fees excluded). All of the following provide opportunities for the public to gain free access to the museum and any program that is offered free upon admission to the museum. These include regularly scheduled tours, gallery talks and some children’s programs.
Library ARTpass
Visit your Connecticut public library and borrow the Wadsworth Atheneum ARTpass. Offered free of charge to more than 200 Connecticut public libraries, the ARTpass provides free general admission to two adults and two youth age 17 and younger. Select a “free day” that suits your family’s calendar!
Hartford Youth
Our roots are in Hartford, and one of the ways we honor this is to provide Hartford students (grades K -12) with free admission year round. An extension of the free program offered to Hartford public schools, we encourage students to return with their families to share their experiences and create new ones together.
Community Open House
Several times each year, the Wadsworth Atheneum sponsors Community Open House days. More than free admission to the museum, Open House events feature special programming, activities, and performers to heighten the connection between visitors and the art. Upcoming Community Open Dates are:

Veteran's Recognition
On Saturday and Sunday, the weekend prior to the November 11 Veteran's Day, the Wadsworth Atheneum honors active and former military personnel with free admission to the museum. In 2009, these dates are November 8 and 9.
Bank of America Museums on Us
Bank of America gives its credit and debit cardholders free admission to the Wadsworth Atheneum the first weekend every month through April 2009. Visit www.bankofamerica.com for details. Bank of America selected 70 arts and cultural institutions across the country. We’re delighted to be a part of this annual partnership.
