Members Get New Benefits Join today and receive complimentary tickets and tours for Impressionists by the Sea.
The Wadsworth’s exciting winter exhibition program promises to draw a record number of visitors. The Membership Department is reinstituting programs to enhance the benefits of membership and add to members’ viewing pleasure.
Members’ Day After much heralded stops at the Royal Academy, London and the Phillips Collection, Washington D.C., this winter’s major exhibition, Impressionists by the Sea, makes it Hartford debut in February.
To coincide with the public opening of this world-class exhibit on Saturday, February 9, the museum is offering members a complimentary showing of the exhibition. The complimentary showing will include docent-led tours of the show. ALL MEMBERS' DAYS TOURS ARE FULL. All members are encouraged to join distinguished lecturer, John House, Walter H. Annenberg Professor at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London, and Curator of Impressionists by the Sea at noon in the Aetna Theater. Professor House will present his talk entitled: From Isabey to Monet: French Artists View the Beach. This talk is free and open to the public.
Tour times: 9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. 11:30 a.m.
Tickets are not required for Members’ Day. An invitation, with in-depth details of the day’s events, will be mailed to members in the coming weeks.
Complimentary Tickets Members also receive complimentary tickets to see Impressionists by the Sea. These tickets may be used anytime throughout the run of the exhibition, subject to time-slot availability. Members are encouraged to see the show in February, as March and April will be increasingly busy in the galleries.
Individual members receive two complimentary tickets. Household, Supporting, Reciprocal and Patron members receive four complimentary tickets. SDW and AA members receive eight complimentary tickets.
Additional tickets for members’ use are $10 each. These tickets will be available starting January 9th. Full price gift tickets (without member discount) are currently available in the Museum Shop. When purchasing or using tickets for Impressionists by the Sea, regular museum admission fees apply. Members are required to show membership card for free entry into the museum.
To accommodate visitors, the museum will have extended hours during the exhibition Tuesday - Friday, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tickets are available in half-hour intervals. The last entry is one-and-one-half hours (90 minutes) before closing.
The museum opens for tours beginning at 9:00 a.m.
